FACM Fall Conference Set for Sirata Beach Resort on St Pete Beach. Call for Presenters. The conference will be at the Sirata Beach Resort & Conference Center on St. Pete Beach. Mark your calendar now; the dates will be October 17th through 20th, 2010. Conference attendees can extend their stay three days prior to the conference and three days following the conference. So if you wanted to make it a family vacation with our lower contracted per day room rate of $101.00, this would be the perfect time! We are always looking for presentations for the conferences. If you wish to give a presentation please contact John Bausola FACM Conference Committee Chair, BausolaJ@paslc.org , or one of the FACM board members. |

Membership notices have also gone out. Please remember that it is your responsibility to make sure you membership is current. Many of our offices have renewed our memberships as a courtesy over the years, however with difficult economic times don’t take it for granted. If you have any doubts, please check with Fred Morawietz, the FACM Membership Chair at fmorawietz@co.volusia.fl.us. Fred will find out if you are current or not. We are looking for nominations for Cadastralist of the Year, Outstanding Achievement Award,and Lifetime Achievement Award. If you know of any member that you feel is worthy of any of these awards, and deserves the well earned credit, please fill out one of the forms here in the newsletter, or contact an Officer of FACM to get a form. This is a great way to recognize your fellow mapper, so that our entire profession within the state can see what they have accomplished! Ballots will also be going out in mid-September, so please be on the lookout for them in your mail box. Thank you all for making this year an enjoyable experience to be your President. I look forward to our upcoming Officers and Directors, and can see that the direction that we are going will only bring bigger and better things!”

Before you know it Fall will be here, and so will the 24th
Annual Conference! If you haven’t done so already, please
get your registrations and reservations set. We are starting
to get them in, so I wanted to remind you if you haven’t
gotten around to it just yet. We are also looking for
presenters, so please let John Bausola (BausolaJ@paslc.org)
know if you are interested. Last year’s conference was very
well received due to the number of FACM member presenters,
and from a wide range of topics. This is really where we can
support one another, so ifyou think that you are not the
presenter type, please think again! Last year was my first
time as an individual presenter, and I was really anxious
about how I would do. But from the start, I was immediately
comfortable because I knew I was talking to my peers, and
got a lot of support from them during the presentation.
